We have worked with Jason & his team to develop our Shopify store, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. The design is clean, modern, and perfectly aligned with our brand identity, while the build is fast, responsive, and easy to manage on the backend. They clearly understood our vision and delivered a store we’re genuinely proud of. Highly recommend to any brand looking for a top-quality Shopify partner.
Motel Rocks are one of the UK's best-known fashion ecommerce brands. Their operation runs high order volumes daily across multiple channels, with significant returns complexity and multi-3PL fulfilment. We built their Shopify and NetSuite integration from scratch.
The integration covers the full order lifecycle: order creation in NetSuite when placed in Shopify, real-time inventory sync back to Shopify, fulfilment routing to their 3PL partners, returns processing that updates both NetSuite and Shopify simultaneously, and financial reconciliation. Nothing manual, nothing batched, nothing falling through the gaps.
How the integration flows
Orders, stock, returns, and financials flowing automatically. No manual exports, no reconciliation spreadsheets.
Every data flow below is something we have built and maintained in production. Not theoretical capability.
Orders placed in Shopify are created in NetSuite in real time. Order status, fulfilment updates, and tracking data flow back to Shopify automatically.
Stock levels updated in NetSuite push to Shopify in real time, so your storefront always reflects accurate availability. Multi-location and multi-warehouse supported.
Returns initiated in Shopify trigger the full NetSuite workflow: goods-in, quality check, stock reinstatement or quarantine, and credit or refund creation. No manual processing.
Customer records synchronised between Shopify and NetSuite, with order history, account status, and credit information available in both systems.
Sales, refunds, and payment data flowing to NetSuite for financial reporting and reconciliation without manual exports. VAT-correct, multi-currency capable.
Orders routed to your 3PL or warehouse management system alongside the NetSuite flow. Fulfilment confirmations and carrier tracking data flowing back through the integration.
Product catalogue, pricing tiers, promotional pricing, and variant data managed in NetSuite and pushed to Shopify. One source of truth for product information.
Any rules specific to your operation: order routing by warehouse, priority fulfilment rules, custom field mapping, or validation logic. Built into the integration rather than managed manually.
Connectors like Celigo, Workato, and Boomi work for standard use cases. Here is when they stop being enough.

The questions we get most often from retailers before a NetSuite integration project starts.
A Shopify and NetSuite integration connects the two platforms via their APIs so that data flows automatically between them without manual intervention. Orders placed in Shopify are created in NetSuite in real time. Inventory levels updated in NetSuite push back to Shopify. Customer records, financial data, and fulfilment status all stay synchronised.
The integration typically covers order creation, inventory sync, customer data, returns processing, and financial reconciliation. The exact data flows and business rules are built to match how your specific operation works rather than mapped onto a generic template.
A bespoke Shopify and NetSuite integration is scoped and priced based on the complexity of the data flows, the number of warehouses and fulfilment locations, whether returns and finance reconciliation are included, and any custom business logic required. The investment is a one-off development cost with no ongoing connector licensing fees.
By comparison, off-the-shelf connectors like Celigo or Workato typically cost between £6,000 and £24,000 per year in licensing alone, and scale with transaction volume. For a high-volume retailer, a bespoke integration pays for itself in avoided connector costs within two to three years, on top of the flexibility and reliability benefits.
A typical Shopify and NetSuite integration project takes between 8 and 16 weeks from kickoff to go-live. The timeline depends on the complexity of the data flows, the number of custom business rules, whether returns and finance reconciliation are included, and how much testing is needed against live order volumes.
This compares favourably to enterprise connector implementations which typically run 3 to 6 months, and NetSuite implementation projects which routinely run 6 to 12 months for the ERP side alone.
Celigo, Workato, and similar platforms are a reasonable choice for standard data flows with minimal custom business logic and a moderate transaction volume. They become problematic when you need custom field mapping beyond what the connector template supports, complex returns workflows, integration with additional systems like 3PLs or couriers alongside NetSuite, or when the ongoing licensing cost at your transaction volume becomes significant.
A bespoke integration handles all of these without compromise, avoids the ongoing licensing cost, and means any future changes are made by a team who knows the integration rather than through a connector platform with its own limitations.
Yes. We regularly build integrations that connect Shopify, NetSuite, and a third-party logistics provider simultaneously, which is exactly what we did for Motel Rocks with Alaiko and Rydership. The typical flow is: order placed in Shopify, created in NetSuite, despatched to 3PL, fulfilment status returned to both Shopify and NetSuite, tracking sent to the customer. Returns follow the reverse path.
Handling all of this within a single integration layer is more reliable and maintainable than separate connectors for each system, which have to be kept in sync with each other as well as with Shopify and NetSuite.
Every integration we build includes error handling, retry logic, and alerting so that failures are caught and flagged rather than silently dropping data. Failed transactions are queued for retry, and the operations team is alerted to anything that requires manual intervention.
Because we built the integration, we can diagnose and fix issues directly rather than raising tickets with a connector vendor who did not build your specific configuration. Most issues are identified and resolved before they affect order processing.
Yes. Most clients are on a support and maintenance retainer after go-live. This covers monitoring, bug fixes, performance optimisation, and changes as your operation evolves. When NetSuite or Shopify update their APIs, we handle the compatibility work as part of the retainer so the integration continues to function without disruption to your operation.
Because we know the integration inside out from having built it, support work is fast and accurate. There is no knowledge transfer cost and no risk of a support team misdiagnosing something because they are reading someone else's code.
Whether you are moving from a connector that is not working well, building from scratch, or adding 3PL and returns automation to an existing NetSuite setup, we will give you a straight view on what is involved and what it would cost.
