Open-Source CRM · Krayin
A clean, modern CRM built on Laravel, the framework we work in every week, extended with your own packages instead of changes to its code.
Krayin covers leads, a sales pipeline, contacts, organisations, products, quotes, email and activities, with a tidy Vue.js interface. It is made by Webkul, licensed under the MIT licence and actively developed: version 2.2.6 was released on 10 September 2026. It needs PHP 8.2 or newer, MySQL 8.0.32 or newer and a server with at least 3 GB of memory, according to the project's own README (all checked 11 October 2026).
It suits small and mid-sized sales teams who want a clear pipeline and expect to need a few features of their own. The MIT licence is also the most relaxed of the open-source CRMs: you can change it and keep your changes private.
We are independent, not a Krayin partner, and we have not yet customised Krayin for a client. What we do every week is build Laravel applications, which is exactly what Krayin customisation is.
New screens, fields, record types and logic built as Laravel packages alongside Krayin, so its updates still apply.
Website forms, email, Shopify, your accounts package or your own software, joined through Krayin's API or a package of our own.
From spreadsheets, HubSpot, Pipedrive or an old CRM, tidied on the way, with a trial run first.
On a UK server in your name, patched, monitored and backed up, with updates tested against your packages.
Krayin's makers sell an official WhatsApp extension that turns WhatsApp messages into leads and lets your team reply from the CRM with text, images and documents. On 11 October 2026 it was listed at $1,499 with three months of support, for Krayin version 2.2.3, so check it matches your version before buying.
The alternative is a custom integration on the WhatsApp Business API, built as our own Laravel package. That makes sense if you need it to work differently, for example tying conversations to existing deals or routing them to the right person, and you would own the code outright. Either way you also pay WhatsApp's own per-message charges through your API provider.
The software itself is free, with no fee per user. The costs are elsewhere:
For most teams of more than a handful of people, that still comes in well under a per-user subscription CRM within a year or two. For a team of three, a cheap subscription might be the better answer, and we will say so.
Yes. Krayin is free under the MIT licence, with no fee per user. You pay for hosting, any paid extensions you choose, and any setup or custom work.
Yes, if changes are built as separate Laravel packages rather than edits to Krayin's own code. That is how Laravel is designed to be extended, and it is how we would do it.
There is an official paid WhatsApp extension from Krayin's makers, or a custom integration can be built on the WhatsApp Business API. Both also involve WhatsApp's own message charges.
Krayin if you expect to need custom features and like the idea of a plain Laravel codebase. EspoCRM if you want to change most things yourself from an admin screen without code.
And what you use now. If Krayin is the wrong fit, we will say so.
We reply within one working day.
