Search for a Shopify agency in Hampshire and most of the results are landing pages written by agencies in other counties. This guide separates the firms with a Hampshire address from the ones renting the postcode, and says plainly what each of them actually does.

We went through the agencies ranking for Shopify searches in Southampton, Portsmouth, Winchester and Basingstoke, and checked every address against the agency's own contact page and against Companies House. A striking number of them are based somewhere else entirely: Dorset, Bristol, Birmingham, Milton Keynes, and in one case nowhere we could establish at all.
That is not a reason to rule any of them out. A good agency two hundred miles away will beat a mediocre one down the road. But you should know which is which before you start, because an agency that is vague about where it sits is often vague about who writes your code as well. Below, every location is sourced, and where we could not verify something we say so rather than guess.
Shopify agencies serving Hampshire, with the location taken from each firm's own contact page or Companies House record.

We only included agencies we could place in Hampshire from their own contact page or from Companies House, plus ourselves, clearly marked as being based in Kent.
There is a meaningful difference between agencies that write bespoke Shopify code and those that configure themes and apps. For complex functionality or integrations, only the former will do.
Many retailers need Shopify connected to ERPs, warehouse systems, or fulfilment platforms. This is a distinct technical skill set. Not all agencies have it, even if they say they do.
An agency whose typical project is a starter store will be out of their depth on a complex mid-market build. We looked at the actual scale and type of work each agency has delivered.
Some agencies pitch senior people and deliver via junior developers or offshore teams. We prioritised agencies where the people who talk to you are the people who build your store.
Plenty of agencies publish a landing page for a county they have no office in. Every address on this page was taken from the agency's own contact page or from Companies House, never from a regional landing page.
We are not a Hampshire agency and this page is not going to pretend otherwise. Dev Partners are based in Gravesend in Kent, and we work with Hampshire retailers the way we work with retailers anywhere outside the South East: remotely, with everything written in-house and nothing outsourced. Southampton is a straightforward trip when a project genuinely needs us in the room, and most do not.
What we bring is the thing that is hard to find locally. We are a Shopify Select Partner, which is Shopify's second-highest partner tier, and the bulk of our work is custom code and integration rather than theme configuration — connecting Shopify to NetSuite, Peoplevox, Sage, 3PLs and bespoke back-office systems. Our clients include AX Paris, Motel Rocks and Chi Chi London. When you call, you speak to Rob or Jason, not an account manager.
If you want an agency you can drop in on, one of the Winchester or Waterlooville firms below will suit you better, and we would say so on a call. If what you need is deep Shopify development and honest answers about what it will cost, that is worth a conversation wherever we happen to sit.
Think Creative Consultants Ltd have been in Winchester since 2001 and publish their studio address openly on their contact page. Their development team, in their own words, works across “large digital platforms, bespoke web apps, WordPress websites, Shopify stores, Webflow builds, integrations, hosting and ongoing support”, and they run a dedicated Shopify page alongside the rest.
That breadth is the trade-off. Shopify is one strand of a studio that also does branding, WordPress and web applications, and they make no Shopify Partner claim anywhere on their site. For a Hampshire organisation that wants a settled local studio handling the site, the brand and the support in one relationship, they are a sensible first call. For a store that lives or dies on an ERP integration, ask them directly what they have connected before.
boxChilli describe themselves as “based in Hampshire and partnering with brands nationwide”, with their main office in Waterlooville and appointment-only rooms in Southampton and Chichester. Their service list runs web design and development, SEO, paid media and social, so the site and the traffic come from the same place.
Worth knowing before you approach them: their own Shopify page is largely an argument for WordPress. It describes builds “built on WordPress using our proprietary SDK” and names Shopify comparatively, as one of several platforms they will work with. They do state integrations with “payment providers, shipping platforms, accounting tools and third-party systems” on the WooCommerce side. If you are set on Shopify specifically, ask early how much of their recent work has actually been Shopify.
ByteSizeMe operate out of Ferneberga House in Farnborough and describe themselves as “local WordPress website CMS design specialists based in Farnborough, serving Hampshire, Surrey, and Berkshire”. Alongside SEO and PPC they sell Shopify management: store setup, configuration and ongoing changes. They are one of the few agencies on this page to publish a rate, quoting professional store builds from £400 a day.
Two things to hold in mind. Their integration claim covers payment gateways — cards, PayPal, buy-now-pay-later — and nothing beyond that, so anything touching stock, an ERP or a fulfilment provider is outside what they advertise. And while they claim “certified experts”, they do not say certified by whom. For a smaller Hampshire store that wants hands-on help by the day, the published rate and the local address are genuinely useful.
Shift Digital Limited are in Winchester and describe themselves as “a digital technology agency specialising in bespoke web design, application development, e-commerce and digital campaign design”. On ecommerce they are explicitly platform-agnostic: they will “deploy tried and tested enterprise ecommerce solutions like Opencart, Shopify and Magento or build you bespoke website solutions”.
That makes them a reasonable place to go if you have not settled on a platform yet and want an opinion from someone local who is not tied to one. They publish no Shopify Partner claim and no integration capability that we could find, so if your project depends on connecting Shopify to something else, establish that in the first conversation rather than assuming it.
Hampshire retailers come to us for one of two reasons. Either they are on a platform they have outgrown and need moving to Shopify without losing their rankings, or they already run Shopify and need it doing something apps cannot do — usually talking properly to their stock, their ERP or their warehouse.
We are in Kent, so this is remote work, and we are straight about what that means. No local office to visit, no popping in. What you get instead is direct access to the developers writing your code, a Shopify Select Partner behind the work, and nothing sent offshore.
We work with Shopify businesses right across Hampshire. These are the areas we are asked about most:
We are based in Kent, not Hampshire. Everything is delivered remotely by our own developers, and we will travel to you when a project genuinely warrants it.
The questions worth asking before you sign anything.
Ask directly. For custom functionality, ERP integration, or complex workflows, you need an agency that writes bespoke code rather than working within what a theme allows.
Some agencies pitch senior staff and deliver via junior developers or offshore teams. Ask directly who writes the code day to day and who your point of contact is throughout.
Ask for specific examples relevant to your sector and project type, not just logos. Detail about what they built and what the challenges were.
Ask for the address on their contact page, not the one on the landing page you arrived through. Several agencies ranking for this county publish no address at all.
If your store needs connecting to an ERP, warehouse system, or third-party fulfilment, confirm the agency has actually done this before.
Ask how post-launch work is handled, how quickly they respond to issues, and whether you will be talking to developers or account managers.
19 clients. A few of their words.
A well-rounded team, ensuring a full suite of expertise & resource is always available. CDS Global have seen the successful completion of major projects over the years where Dev Partners' ability to grasp the underlying business needs to provide a future-proof solution has been invaluable.
We have worked with Jason & his team to develop our Shopify store, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. The design is clean, modern, and perfectly aligned with our brand identity, while the build is fast, responsive, and easy to manage on the backend. They clearly understood our vision and delivered a store we're genuinely proud of. Highly recommend to any brand looking for a top-quality Shopify partner.
After ongoing issues and delays with our previous developers, we brought in Rob & Jason at Dev Partners to take over all our websites and bespoke software. What a breath of fresh air, fully focused, excellent pre-launch designs and clear communication throughout. Highly recommended.

Great agency. Have used Dev Partners for several years and they have built 20+ sites for us, in addition to taking on our legacy websites, upgrading and maintaining. Easy to work with and some great practical ideas to improve our digital offerings.
Jones Hire have been working with Dev Partners on several projects, which have been very successful. They linked our catering database to a new improved website so clients can easily place and update orders, created a custom warehouse picking app to fulfil all our challenging requirements, and are currently developing a custom transport app to streamline our loading and delivery process.
We have been trying to reinvent our website for over 5 years, trying to make it convert and failing each time. Spoke to Rob at Dev Partners, the team helped create our new site and the improvement was instant.
We have been working with Rob and the team for about 10 years now. Dev Partners helped us build a completely bespoke CRM from scratch which manages our daily business and is always well maintained. We have been able to use the system and roll it out in our new franchise branches.
We collaborated with Dev Partners on the front end of a fairly complex telemarketing platform. Rob and Jason took the time to properly understand the moving parts, asked the right questions, and delivered a clean, intuitive interface that's made the system far easier for our team to use.
I have been working with the team at Dev Partners for the last 3 years and we have always been impressed with the speed in which they act on things for us, along with the honest open communication. The team are a valuable and vital part of our supply chain.

I've worked with Rob and his team off and on for many years and have always found them to be professional, knowledgeable, and best of all, they listen to their clients and deliver what is required.
We have worked with Dev Partners for 7 years and can highly recommend them for their expertise and excellent customer service.
No. We are based in Gravesend in Kent and we work with Hampshire retailers remotely. We are saying that plainly because several agencies ranking for Hampshire Shopify searches are based in Dorset, Bristol or Birmingham and are rather less forthcoming about it.
Less than you would think, and we would rather you decided than we did. Shopify work is done on shared boards and calls whoever builds it. If being able to walk into your agency's office matters to you, talk to the Winchester and Waterlooville firms instead and we will say the same on a call.
Yes, when a project warrants it. Southampton is a straightforward run for a kick-off or a workshop. Day-to-day delivery runs remotely, which is how nearly all Shopify projects run regardless of where the agency sits.
We are a Shopify Select Partner, Shopify's second-highest partner tier, and we build on both Plus and standard Shopify. Plus earns its licence fee once you need checkout customisation or you are at real volume. Below that we will usually tell you to stay where you are.
Yes, and it is the bulk of what we do. NetSuite, Peoplevox, Linnworks, Sage, third-party logistics providers and bespoke back-office systems. Very few agencies with a Hampshire address advertise this capability at all, which is usually why retailers here end up talking to us.
Yes. Magento, WooCommerce, OpenCart, Visualsoft and various homegrown systems. The data migration is what usually goes wrong, so we plan it first, run it into a staging store and check it properly before anyone commits to a launch date.
Smaller pieces of custom development run into the low thousands; a full build with integrations is a larger figure. You get a fixed written quote with the scope set out before work starts, so nothing arrives as a surprise later.
A Shopify store is easy to launch and hard to get right at scale. The work that matters is the part customers never see — how cleanly it talks to your stock, your orders and your back office. We write code rather than stack up apps, so it still performs when you're at your busiest.
Whether you are building a new Shopify store, migrating from a platform you have outgrown, or need custom functionality your current setup cannot support, we will tell you what is involved and what it would cost.
What we will cover:
